Well if this is the first time that you have ever come to my web site you might be thinking how the hell does he find time to do all of this stuff and still work. Well it is a very fine line and sometimes other things tend to take a back seat when they maybe should have a little more attention.

I love Hockey Ice and Inline it is just a brilliant game it is a chance to work within a team group and become part of a team environment and also a chance to try and show off some personal sparkle.  A sweet dish, and nice rising slapper, and quick wrist shot, a nice clean check, break up a 2 on 1 rush or just finish off a great play. Its a great dame and I think one of the pluses for it is the fact of the skating, just adds that great element to it.

I certainly dont have the best skills, I started the game too late for that, but I get in there and try and do some of the dirty work which is not all that bad and occasionally I get the chance to score some goals.

Unfortunately hockey has to take a bit of a back seat at the moment, with my bad wrist which is taking a while to heal up so this year coming up it will be only Inline Hockey to try and give my wrist some much needed R&R. In Melbourne I played for the Dandenong Cougars and Ice I played for the Ringwood Sharks and I managed to get in a full season of full checking hockey, great stuff, just great stuff.

So obviously I watch the NHL when I can, the folks have Optus back in Melbourne and good old Mum tapes those games and sends them up to me when she can and just in case you did not get it, yep I follow the Buffalo Sabres. Originally I guess the main reason I followed them was because when I was looking for my first Hockey jersey this is the one Vivien picked out, but its amazing how things just seem to suit. I quickly learned that Buffalo was a hard working defensive style of team, average to low payroll, so not too much flash but an honest team.  They had (Da Dominator) Hasek (currently with the Czech Republic) in goal and they had a guy that you can look up to as far as hockey goes, Michael Peca (currently with the Team Canada) and unfortunately now with the NY Islanders instead of with the Sabres where he belongs! And of course we all know where Hasek is now, but anyway we have Marty Biron in goal and he is starting to fulfill the promise he always has showed. So its been a slow year for the Sabres and look like missing out on the Stanley Cup finals for the first time in a while, but look out next year with a solid Marty in goal and Taylor Pyatt and Tim Connolly knocking those pucks in.

I have joined an Inline team up in Brisbane the Pine Rivers club based in Albany Creek, with games being played in Logan and the season due to start in March, so with a bit of luck on my side, I will be ready to play.
